Set in the quiet solitude of a six-acre farmstead, the Vermont Retreat is a nature lover’s dream
— Forbes Magazine
  • The Farmhouse

Light-filled, spacious and perfect for couples, families and small groups, the farmhouse is a Vermont dream. 3 very gracious bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a beautiful covered porch with seating and lovely views await.

  • The Cottage

A private haven… sunrise coffee on the deck, a good read in the alcove by the fire, a long soak after ski or hike, farmstand bounty in the open-plan kitchen, deep sleep in the best bed ever, windows filled with moon and stars.

  • The Yurt

Tucked into a wooded knoll… views of fields & woods, birdcall in the morning, starlight through the dome at night, the only question before you: will you cook your supper in the perfect tiny kitchen or over the open fire outdoors?

Sam and Kira say “dogs welcome!”

  • Read our reviews for the cottage here and the yurt here. Pro tip: click on the “show all reviews” button to access a search bar. You can then input any keyword to read about what other guests have said about a particular aspect of their stay. Things like … quiet, winter, privacy, hikes, dogs. Or just ask us!

  • Our Explore page will be up soon with details on some our favorite seasonal pleasures… here’s a quick preview:

Winter: Putney local’s xc ski trails through snowy woods and later, sugaring season! We tap our own trees and bottle our own syrup - come have a taste!

Spring: Cook supper over the open fire in your outdoor firepit while the spring peepers serenade you.

Summer: Secret swimming holes, the best local farmstands, picking your dinner from our garden, and paddling the pristine and hidden ponds and waterways of southern Vermont… there’s nothing more dreamy than summertime.

Fall: One word: glory. We share our fave orchards for picking, followed by hot cider and cider donuts, the best autumn driving loops, and hikes that will have you looking at the real estate ads when you get home.

  • All three dwellings are cozy, romantic and tended well. We’ve been blessed to host lots of small groups, honeymooners, babymooners, women on solo retreats, mama and daughter weekends and family getaways.

  • There is a lot to do and see here - our guests love our our very special Insider’s Area Guide with all our favorite restaurants, farmstands, daytrip itineraries, moonlight hikes, secret swimming holes and community events.

“Hands down, the best place we’ve ever stayed.”
